Participation Guidelines
Participation in official BTAA groups is intended for current employees at
member libraries, in alignment with BTAA’s membership model. As a result, participation is generally limited to staff at dues-paying member institutions. If questions come up about an individual’s eligibility, the Center for Library Programs Helpdesk (
library@btaa.org) is a good point of contact.
Retirements: When someone retires or is no longer affiliated with a BTAA member library, they would typically step away from group participation, even if they retain an institutional email address (e.g., emeritus status). Updates can be shared with
library@btaa.org by the retiree, a colleague, or group leadership.
Separations: BTAA relies on member institutions and groups to help keep group rosters current. Some groups may choose to do occasional check-ins (for example, a light “summer review”) to confirm their rosters. Updates can be shared directly with
library@btaa.org, or coordinated through group chairs/co-chairs if that’s easier.
